A fast-paced, {very} dark comedy that was thoroughly enjoyable. Such a quick, fun read!
A note about the narration: In one word, horrible! I don't know who thought up this gimmick, but they should be fired. All of the thoughts of everyone (I guess primarily Agnes and Shane) are done with an echo chamber, and in a much lower volume. They are hard to understand and pop you out of the story every time they're used. I hated it!

All Agnes wants is to put on a wedding for a mob family, finish her second cookbook (Mob Food was her first), and secure her home from getting taken back by a ruthless, crazy ex-mob wife. In the meantime, she gets involved professionally (and very personally) with a hitman who is supposed to make sure the wedding comes off without a hitch. This is a fast-moving, funny mystery full of bullets and bodies. Looking forward to more in the series.
Great mystery/romance. A little of both. The greatest part of the book - not your typical romance, but I won't spoil it. Not too suspenseful. A great summer read. I enjoyed the characters and thought the writing was good. Some language and descriptive interactions that some might not appreciated but I thought it was well placed and not totally inappropriate. May have to check out their other book(s) after reading this one.

3.5 stars.
This book was fun. Bonkers, but fun. The body count is high, but so are the shenanigans. There's romance on top of secrets, revenge, chaotic weddings, and a lot of interesting characters.
I really liked Shane, and I enjoyed him and Agnes together. This is definitely worth a read if you are looking for something a little bit zany, where everyone gets what is coming to them (both good and bad) in the end.

I saw mention of this one in a facebook group, although I can't remember exactly why it was talked about or recommended, I just remember thinking it sounded humorous and I wanted to give it a shot.
Hilarity sprung from page one.
Now, let me start by saying this is the kind of humor or book for people who enjoy the Stephanie Plum books: things don't always make sense, but they happen anyhow (Flamingos living at the house?), underdramatic or overdramatic scenes (Oh... he fell through that hole and died... huh... ), and pissing contests between catty women. Oh! and some snappy dialogue.
The difference here, is that Agnes isn't trying to be something she isn't-- she isn't trying to solve murders or having to be saved because she's being stupid. Agnes is trying to host a wedding and cook up a storm, but people are trying to kill her. The problem I have with some romance books is how stupid the heroine can be, but Agnes is just normal. She's a breath of fresh air... especially since she does have anger issues... for a good reason.
I loved the main characters, disliked how lack of or hiding information is part of what carried the plot, and am wondering why something was revealed when it doesn't affect the book at all, even though I feel it totally should. I honestly wish this was a series or something so I could get more from the world.
I will try more by these authors in the future and will definitely spread recommendations for this book.

Fun fluff read, a little too much sex for me to recommend broadly. Similar to an Evanovich novel, but with slightly less cussing. She has great descriptions of food - I really would like Agnes' pancake recipe. Funny southerners, hitmen, mobsters, and a wedding with lots of mishaps/mixups. This would be a good beach novel.
