everyone in this sucks. wildly, hilariously unnecessary.

It was nice to return Nantucket and the crew following Mallory's passing. I liked the idea of Cooper trying to recreate his 1st bachelor weekend, but doing it "right". I loved seeing Fray and Leland reconnect, in a positive and healthy way. I loved seeing Link and Bess reconnect (and actually would love more about them!).

But what I didn't love was Jake and Ursula at the end. I get that they had both grown and changed, but I feel that it cheapens Jake's relationship with Mallory. It took away from their epic love story, the whole point of 28 Summers.

But revisit to show us Link and Bess? That I would totally read!

I liked this! Honestly, I probably enjoyed it as much as I did because I enjoyed 28 Summers. (And I’m hoping there’s a second full novel!)

This was short enough to read in a few hours and is essentially an extended epilogue. We caught up with everyone from 28 Summers and got a few new insights as well; each chapter is focused on a different character.

I am also among those who weren’t thrilled with the ending, except that it gives me hope for another book with these characters. And I don’t think the title was fitting — read it to see why!

If you liked 28 Summers or just want to know what became of everyone, I recommend!

What a letdown! I loved 28 Summers and expected this to be a lovely visit with the same characters, but it honestly felt pretty pointless. You get a chapter for each character, two for Cooper and Jake, that just repeats snippets from book one and throws a few updates in. It read more like a where are they now versus a fleshed out novella. Oh, and the end???? Wtf. No. Just no.
