This book is honestly such a lovely read.
The way it was written and the time span of it was beautiful. I didn’t get many of the film references in it- but it was great.
Not a spicy book at all but it definitely has its cutesy romance vibes all around it.

Plot Twist, by Bethany Turner, is simply brilliant! Bethany is a genius at storytelling with her creative use of thematic elements, her lovable characters, and her “plot twists” that keep readers thoroughly engrossed in her hilarious, spellbinding rom-coms!

I absolutely loved this story. I devoured it in two short afternoons… I simply couldn’t put it down! I could so easily relate to Olivia Ross and her self-description of a supporting character in the narration of life. Meanwhile, I enjoyed the twist that the supporting characters in this story: Fiona, Hamish and Liam were all “leading characters” in Olivia’s mind. The irony is not lost on me!

Without giving too much of this story away, I’ll say that it is very cleverly written, hilarious and unique! I loved the celebrity name dropping and special appearances, the Hollywood theme, the laugh out loud thoughts readers are privy to via Olivia’s internal dialogue and the mention of many movies I experienced and loved in my early twenties. In fact, there wasn’t anything I didn’t love about this story!

This novel is very well-written and offers a wide range of exciting, captivating elements such as mystery, intrigue, personal struggles, steamy romance, delightful characters, humor, friendship and personal growth. I found this story to be uplifting, emotional, fun and charming. It is a
definite must-read!

*I voluntarily received a complimentary e-copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. All thoughts are my own and I was not required to post a positive review.

Oh gosh, I thought this would be a 3 or 3.5 until I got to the amazing 4/4.5 ending!

Aspiring screenwriter Olivia meets a handsome actor in a coffee shop who saves her from a creepy man hitting on her. They part ways without exchanging names and agree to meet back at the coffee shop in 10 years (meet-cute a la Hollywood). As the years go on, that date every year is the lens through which the reader learns about her career, love life, family, and friends. This was a light Rom-Com read with guest appearances by some heavy Hollywood hotties. And Olivia learns that she can be a leading lady in her own lift for god's sake!

For Fans of "The Holiday", Alanis Morissette's "Ironic" and good clean fun!

The perfect cheesy romance I wanted it to be. Just something to speed through and enjoy the nonsense of. Cute, fun.

I considered abandoning this book so many times. If it wasn't going so quickly I probably would have, but hey, one closer to my annual goal.

So, is LA truly some Neverland world and everyone there just perpetually immature and insecure? The main character's behavior may have been believable if this had taken place over a decade that started in her 20s, but I truly can't believe that a woman, from the age of 30 to 40, could be so incredibly unsure of herself, yet so completely self-absorbed, and all but incapable of self-expression. It literally took her a decade of rehashing the same trite internal monologue over and over, hurting her closest friends in the process, leaving things completely unresolved for (at the risk of being repetitive) TEN FREAKING YEARS only to have it wrap up in a perfect little bow with no one calling her on her shit because the man she had loved and abandoned and abandoned and toyed with and abandoned again just up and forgave her and showed up one day. This is not romantic, it's psychotic. There wasn't any character growth, just one day, everything was fine, the end. Ugh.
