This book was pretty awful to read, but overall it wasn't the worst ND book I've read.

Then again, it does sound pretty difficult to make visiting Amish Pennsylvania to find stolen furniture all that exciting. I will say, my least favorite moments in these ND novels written by Harriet Stratemeyer Adams is when the boys show up. It both belittles the girls work so far in the story and they also tend to have very little plot purpose.
Some of the plot points were a bit whoa! like
Nancy getting hit in the neck with a rock that had been sling shot towards her was a 'well, Nancy's dead' situation. Luckily, she is immortal so it was no issue for her. But also it was incredibly frustrating because this event happens towards the end of the book and hardly serves any purpose, they could have just woke up the next morning and had their car stolen but noooo Nancy needed a brush with death. Also, I had to look up when seatbelt laws began to be enforced after Bess flew out of her seat in the car accident scene. Damn, people were so unsafe back in the day!
