This book tore my heart in pieces. Literal pieces. Like... I won’t spoil it but the last thirty pages of this book are INTENSE. INTENSE.
But I love to see how Frey is growing— or fighting her growth. You get to know a lot of the other characters better in this book, as well as a MUCH better idea of how Shreve is run and how the citizens act in Shreve.
I’m so curious what the last book is going to be like and so upset that I won’t find out for 1-1.5-2 years

I really love scott westerfield so it’s always exciting to read another one of his books. I thought that this book wasn’t as strong as the first book in the series but I still really enjoyed it. Especially the ending. It was unexpected!
Ugh annoyed by Rafi taking control and keeping Frey’s name but not surprised. Very curious to see Tally and what will happen in the last book though! Good action and progression in this book. Good riddance to Col (not enough substance to him, filler character).
