I think they were trying to appeal to early 2000s YA readers by being "gritty" and "sexy" but it was more "creepy" and "weird"
I'm really uncomfortable with this portrayal of Laura Kinney. She deserves better.

I'm not a big comic book reader, but I enjoyed this series. Have reading issues 3, 4 and 5 roughly four/five years ago, I was unable to pick up the rest of the issues until the other day when I bought the hardback collection. It's hard to follow in some places, but after a couple of readings, the storyline makes sense. The cover art is absolutely gorgeous. This series also started my love for the character X-23. I do wish Kiden would appear in other series, too.

Dark and creepy but kind of awesome. X-23 is always pretty cool, but this is not her at her best. The art is off and heck she has neither of her names. But the rest of the art is great and Kiden especially rings completely true.

Marjorie's was better. Needed more Laura, although I do miss silent, creepy Laura. Ah the good old days.
