The Psycho is the first book by Nikki J Summers and is the first book in the Soldiers of Anarchy series.

This series is connected to the Rebels of Sandland series (which I have not read).  I should have read that series first as this book mentions events that happen prior to this series.  However, I didn't feel I had to stop reading The Psycho to read the other series first as events were only briefly mentioned.

The Psycho follows Adam (Psycho) and Olivia (Liv).

This is a slow burn, I hate you, stay away from me, stalker romance.

It is a nice quick read that has you gripped from the start.

Adam will go to any lengths to prove he wants her forever, not just a one night stand.

The scene with them in the dark room at The Sanctuary, the club the Soldiers run, was 🥵🥵🥵.

Most of the plot action takes place in the last few chapters of the book.  I would have liked to have seen this part of the plot slowed down.

That being said I can't wait to start The Reaper.

This is a book that touched my soul. I am a poetic romantic at heart and I melt for the stories that have “twin souls”, “soul halves”, “soul mates” etc. The Psycho was everything and more that I want out of a Dark Romance. This was hands down a 5 star read for me and I feel like I’ve been living under a rock to have had this sit idly on my TBR for far too long.

The entire world setting that I stepped into was palpable. From the way each character spoke to their behaviorisms, it was awesome. Adam, MMC, I really applaud Nikki J Summers for delivering on The Psycho which is Adam. There literally was something devoid in Adam, his brain was definitely not wired to be as what we refer/classify as “normal”. And the dialogue she provided for Adam to back this up was one of the few times an Author pulled off on what is promised for a character’s traits. It may seem something small to other readers’, but for me one of my BIGGEST peeves is when an Author defines a character and then I’m left confused because there is no consistency or the character does not live up to what was promised.

Also, to wrap up on Adam, because of him lacking emotional development and discovering new feelings that he doesn’t recognize made his love, his commitment, his pure adoration for Olivia (FMC) just all that sweeter! Yes, it’s a stalker romance. Yes, it’s an Enemies to Lovers. But, if you can step back and look at what’s underneath it all, it’s truly a Poetic Romantic Story that gave me huge heart eyes (but also the spicy scenes got me very hot and bothered

I really wanted to love this book. Although I liked it, I wanted more. The beginning was a little confusing. The banter wasnt top tier like I expected.
