Page turner, really had me gripped tbh. I enjoyed the dip into thriller/mystery which is kind of unusual for me. I didn’t really know what was going to happen next and while a lot of the other reviews say the ambiguous ending is unsatisfying I actually think it made the whole thing more interesting and nuanced, I wish it had been a bit more fleshed out rather than kind of tacked on the end. But then that might have been a bit much. Anyway overall it was a good read but I do have a few issues with the fact that the main plot line is about a woman lying about being a victim of domestic abuse. It’s so hard to be taken seriously as a woman who has actually been assaulted, so adding to the stigma with a novel based around someone who was lying is not something I agree with at all really.

Has made me think I’ll read more mysteries though.

I read this book up until the first half and then decided to listen to it at 2x speed on readera. I've binged it all on the last day of me reading it because the mystery kept me interested. I'm not quite sure if it's because I listened to it instead of reading it that I don't feel as obsessed with it as i could have if I had just read it. Nonetheless, I felt what I felt and I'm giving it 3.5 stars. After finishing the book I literally asked myself what was even the point of the book. Still enjoyable. I would have preferred it if people would recommend this and say it has some triggering topics because it had a lot and based on the way people recommended it, you wouldn't think that there were some dark topics mentioned here. My fault for not looking up the trigger warnings tho. I also didn't how things were 'resolved' and boiled down to this one 'reason' as to why things happened. Nonetheless, 3.5/5!
