A trippy read!  I actually really loved the ending, though I can see why others do not. Lisa Jewell does a great job painting a picture of the lives of the two women, Alix and Josie - well, at least as they perceive their lives.  Reading about their perspectives made me realize just how difficult it can be to be grateful for what we have and to consider others' backgrounds.  We all make assumptions, it's a natural and necessary social skill, and this book explores how those assumptions can be used against us.

Like binge watching a show and getting to the end and saying, “What did I just read?” A waste of my life even though the writing is excellent.

Creepy, compelling, twisted, unsettling and disturbing, but very easy to fly through!

Suspenseful but pacing was on the slow side. I thought the revelations would be more on the plot twist types but the conclusion ended up being rather generic. The ending was also rather confusing - I get where the author was going but execution wasn’t that good.

Truly one of the best thrillers I have read in a long time. The audio format compliments the book so well with the podcast format.
As much as I enjoyed the overall plot, characters, rhythm and ambiance I have to say the victim blaming of a 13 year old child and the glossing over of the husband’s pedophilia made me really uncomfortable and was probably unnecessary.
