Well-written, but not my cup of tea. The first three quarters of the book are *beyond* slow but sure do hint at SOMETHING THAT HAS HAPPENED thanks to the Netflix documentary clips (“and then… well, we all know what happened then, don’t we?” x20). But then the last quarter is so insanely different that it almost feels disconnected from the setup. I ended it feeling very unresolved and frustrated.
Also I can appreciate an unreliable narrator, but to have so much of the plot in a plot-heavy book rely so heavily on one makes it very hard to connect.
(On the plus side, outstanding production value for the audiobook.)

i hated the writing (super clunky), i found the book problematic, and i was just extremely underwhelmed. not to mention so many things didn’t make sense!
LIKE WHY DID SHE STILL CONTINUE HER PODCAST WHEN HER WHOLEASS HUSBAND WAS MISSING??? WHO ON EARTH WILLINGLY BROADCASTS THE DETAILS OF THEIR HUSBAND’S MURDER JUST A FEW MONTHS AFTER THE FACT???

i don’t know if i read a completely different book from everyone else, but the only thing i liked about it was that it was a quick read (not to be confused with compelling though).

wow - so this was a ride. I think I needed something like this to just get me cruising through reading. I enjoyed the trip this book took me on.

I was both excited and disappointed by the ending. I do agree with others that just shifting the blame on Jodie while inherently the relationship she had with Walter was fucked up. But, I do think the author leaves clues that while yes, Jodie is truly fucked up she did somewhat mean well?? Maybe I'm crazy and I'm believing her too much but what if Roxie actually did kill Brooke??? I also do think she hated Nathan but I do believe she did not mean to kill him.
