Things get a little freaky when the Raine family moves to a brand new home in a brand new state far away from (almost) everything young Harper holds dear. When Harper's baby brother starts acting strange she knows its up to her to figure out the mystery of her own past, her mother and grandmother's rift as well as what happened in her rambling old home before they got there.
Okay, honestly this may be a Coraline situation - you know where adults watch Coraline and they're totally freaked out but kids will watch it and they're not even phased a bit? Because at 31 this book surprised be by being middle grade and dealing with some themes I didn't expect at all. Overall, I thought the book was fun and interesting and I will probably continue the series.
