This was one of those books that wasn’t necessarily bad, but it was boring. It’s a shame, really, because the book started off with a mysterious premise: Alice, the protagonist, encounters a fortune teller who tells her that the most important man in her life would be found in Istanbul. Thus begins her curious journey to a country she’s never visited in search of said man, who she would find with the help of six unnamed individuals.
It was the moment Alice decided that she would go to Istanbul in search of this man that the book started losing its intrigue and became plain and predictable for me. I think it didn’t help that the ending was very lackluster and seemed hastily thrown together to create a happily ever after of sorts.
