This is the first book from Nietzsche that I've read and I think it's a good place to start because the author himself gives a retrospective of his former books.
However it is not an easy reading. The style is very different from other philosophers. In order to really appreciate it, I have the feeling that one must read other Nietzsche's books first and then come back to this one.

Perhaps I shouldn't have read Nietzsche's last composition first. I get that it is satirical, but I spent most of my time listening to this book with a scrunched brow. Perhaps I'm not academic enough to "get" it.
