Ramsey and shiloh were my fave couple of this entire series, hands down. their dark pasts somehow lead themselves to one another and they bring each other back into the light. i love that we saw glimpses of this in shattered sea, but really get into the nitty gritty in this book.
so sad that i’m now done the tattered and torn series, these characters were great! onto the next series in Catherine cowles backlist! 🤭

What a great ending to an awesome series! I didn't binge this one quite as quickly as I did the other ones but I still loved Ramsey and Shy's story and especially Shy finally getting to shine in her own story 🤍 Ramsey is the epitome of "I hate everyone but you" and goddd, it was so adorable! We got some great plot developments and especially with the closing scenes, it was a real full-circle moment. I loved seeing so many scenes of all the siblings together, too!

Cowles saved the best for last with Fractured Sky. I absolutely loved the pairing of Shiloh and Ramsey. Both had tragic pasts they had done major healing from and were trying to move and live their lives. The hope and comfort they brought each other was so sweet. I loved how the horse rehabilitation ranch and two kids who end up spending time there added to the story. There were so many great, healing moments along with the romance. I even loved how Shiloh's family and her relationships with them started to completely mend. And then there was the romantic suspense plot. Poor Shiloh had them coming at her from all directions! I didn't see the twist coming, but I should have expected it! This book was the best way to end the series. I loved it.

Perfect ending to this series. There was no doubt in my mind when I picked up Tattered Stars that Shiloh would be the exclamation point on this series. She and Everly were the catalysts to four out of five books in this series and while Everly was the perfect character to start the series, Shiloh needed some time before her character was ready to step out into the light. I loved that each of these couples found partners who were so well matched for them, and Shiloh and Ramsey were no different.

Shiloh and Ramsey had developed a relationship over nine years based on non-verbal communication, so when Shiloh takes that first step in reaching for her freedom, it makes sense it would be with the one person who has made her feel safe. Ramsey was so misunderstood at the beginning of this book. He had just as many demons as Shiloh to conquer, but had no support system. He spent his days rescuing and rehabilitating horses and had a hard time trusting people, but Shiloh had always been the exception.

Shiloh had felt trapped with her family and was ready to take steps to break free. She knew their actions came from love and fear, but she was ready to take control. I loved how Hadley was so supportive of her, she never questioned Shiloh’s decision to move onto Ramsey’s ranch when everyone else had their own opinions. Shiloh and Ramsey grew so much in this book. Shiloh brought Ramsey back to life just as much as Ramsey helped Shiloh feel safe to put her needs first.

I loved the way Shiloh and Ramsey took care of Austin and Elliot. And I loved that their lives mirrored the lives of the horses they had on Ramsey’s ranch. There were so many clues about where they were headed that were based on what was happening with the horses. On top of everything, the suspense in this book was amazing. It really came full circle and there was definitely a moment or two of shock.

I loved how everything played out and the epilogue and bonus scene were the perfect capstones on this series.

CW: kidnapping, child abuse, child neglect, animal abuse, violence, gun violence

Ms. Cowles finishes the series with the MFC that was kidnapped as a child. Shiloh still deals with residual trauma from her abduction. She finds comfort in sitting and watching Ramsey work with troubled horses on his farm. Ramsey also has a broken past and understands what it takes to make things heal. After Shiloh learns that her abductor died while in prison, she takes the step to move out of her parents' house. She feels safe on Ramsey's land and he offers her use of his guest cabin in exchange for help with the horses on his farm. I enjoyed watching the work with the horses and each other. Even though this is a romantic suspense, the conflict level is kept pretty low. There is a large twist during the climax that I appreciated. Ramsey and Shiloh's path to love was more like a gentle slide and worked wonderfully for their characters.
