This was super short but it caught my interest, and I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the series and learning more about what’s going on.
It was okay. Didn't really at anything major to the story.
The Darkling has always been such a multifaceted character, and this novella only highlights that fact and provides insight into how he became the man he was. I only wish that Leigh Bardugo had written more, and hope that she plans to write more stories from his perspective.
I wasn’t sure I wanted to read this as I was torn about my feelings regarding Shadow & Bone. Let’s just say that I’m glad I did read it! I loved the background that it gave about The Darkling, and it actually made me think differently about him. I actually felt more compassion for him. Glad I read this because now I think I’ll actually pick up the second book.
nothing important. i just enjoy leigh’s writing, still brilliant even with this short prequel.
Not this novella making me more emotional than the whole of the damn trilogy. Jeez.
