This was such a heartfelt story. I wish it was longer. The Darkling's story is so long it doesn't feel realistic enough to boil it down to this one tiny little tale. But for the bonus that it was, it lent a lot of characterization to the Darkling.
This is not enough! I think I need a whole new novel with the Darkling's POV. *sobs*

i couldn't be bothered to read this when i originally read the trilogy but I'm glad i did this time. it really gives more insight into attitudes towards the grisha and grisha towards grisha amplifiers. i really thought that this would be a cute little romance with annika but aaoop jumpscare. i still don't like the darkling tho, what a fucking prick.
Can I please have a whole prequel novel about the Darkling and Baghra? I'd love to learn more about their earlier years, this was such a great little peak into their lives before the Fold.
