First I thought this is going to be the first love story that the darkling had. Boy how wrong I was. I even like Bahgra now, I always thought she didn't care for her son but turns out a mother is always going to be a mother.

This was fine, my biggest gripe is that it's so short-but I can't really hold the brevity of a short story against it. As a peek into the Darkling and his mother, it was interesting-but I was left wanting so much more, and I don't think it added much depth to the characters. This story was a bit superficial, and I feel like there were likely multiple other moments in the Darkling's life that could have been used instead of this one. An odd thing to say, perhaps, but it is my conviction.
I recommend this only to those dedicated fans of the series. I think without context, there won't be much for an uninitiated reader to enjoy here.
