I had to listen to the beginning a few times to get the background info down, but once I did I was HOOKED. Ellie and Frank’s history is so heartbreaking, but how they find each other again is just SO GOOD! Mafia romances can be super toxic, but this was a rare exception as Frank is top tier book boyfriend material.

Ever since Frank was introduced in the first book of the Whiskey series, I wanted a happy ending for him. It took too many years, but he did get it! Ellie is for sure his soulmate and although life was hard for her, she found the strength to let Frank into her heart.
I know I’m not supposed to feel bad for her ex husband, but I do. Part of me wanted him to change and be there for his children.
Now, this book completes the series and the James/Hanson family stuff… I still have so many questions. I thought we’d get a glimpse of Shane’s future, but nothing was said. Sigh… I need more!!!

Wow I’m actually surprised I loved this as much as I did. I haven’t ever tried a mafia romance cuz I thought I’d find it cringey but it was pleasantly surprising. It was really sweet and intense and couldn’t put it down. Curious to look at the other stories by this author in this same universe. Also of course, duet style audiobook and it’s Joe Arden/maxine Mitchell combo which is my 100% favorite
