Little scarier than I imagined but the boys seemed into it. They loved the chapter a night plan too.

Calvin is enjoying this series, and I'm enjoying reading it out loud to him!

1/14 read aloud to Will (and Emma). Will is loving this series. It's been perfect for capturing his imagination and taking his love of books up to the next level. We read half the book in one day, and he wanted to move right into the final book in he series when we finished. Amending my previous rating of 4 stars to 5. These are great early chapter books, enjoyable even more upon re-read for me as well.
1/13 The fantastic sequel to My Father's Dragon. This book is as descriptive, fanciful, and brilliant as the first, just no quite as funny. Emma loved it and we moved right on to the final book in the series today also.

I think the first book in this series was pretty good, but this one didn't seem as interesting. It could be the reader wasn't very expressive when we listened to it in the car. My 6 year old enjoyed it, but my 4 year old was bored with it - even though he'd enjoyed My Father's Dragon when I read it to him. (April 2011)
I read this to Isaac (almost 6) right after finishing the first book and he still enjoyed it. I still don't think it's as good as the first one, but we will still look for book 3 and continue the story. (Sep 2014)
