I think the biggest issue with this book is that all of the characters have the exact same voice, there’s no discerning differences in the povs and it makes the book hard to follow and seem incredibly too long. The idea was good but poor execution

i finished this during a long sleepless night (yesterday) (courtesy of a mosquito) (it's september please leave already) and obviously one thing i could praise it for is how easy it was to read. there are so many twists and turns here that you could sprain your ankle if you weren't careful enough. some of the literary choices made me cringe. you could cut this down in half and not really lose much, but i guess my 1v1 with the mosquito would have been much less fun then. a lot of the narrative depends on you either believing that these people are that stupid or that it is completely plausible that everyone went batshit crazy on this fateful night (was it a full moon?). the whole thing with the airbnb hosts is just bizarre and just there, like, believe this has also happened because i wrote it here. well, gilly, i won't. there are also some parts in the book where you genuinely cannot understand what happened. this may be because the author wants tHe SuSpENse to be effective or whatnot, but it only looks like she is bad at writing. 2 stars (actually 1.5) because it did keep me company through an otherwise sleepless (and annoying) night.

So predictable I nabbed it at 6% lol unfortunate. Might try again later for the sake of the tension and whatnot.
