I fell in love with Rixon High recently. I was a little late to the game - but I have inhaled the series after seeing a video on BookTok! This book absolutely knocked it out of the park - if only my friends had hot older brothers! Bravo!

Soooo many tears....I needed deep breaths and pauses just to keep reading.

We can all admit that teenage hormones amplify everything to the extreme, add in something that will alter the course of your life and it becomes an overload to any teenage system.

It's probably why I love reading new adult books so much, the emotions are heightened, the actions are amplified, and everything is just bigger.

Cole and Sofia are thrown into a situation that very few teens have to face and given Sofe's battle, it's one that the author tackled with grace and a bucketload of tears.

Both Cole and Sofia have had a crush on one another for quite some time, but neither told the other nor reciprocated, due to one big obstacle...Aaron Bennet. He is Cole's best friend and Sofe's twin brother. He's always been wedged between them and neither knew how to get around the big guy, but when things finally start happening in Sofia's life that make it nearly impossible for Cole to look the other way they decide it was time for both of them to tell Aaron about their feelings and begin living their truth.

Without giving away the experience, I'm just going to say this; Cole is probably one if the best boyfriends in this series. Prepare to fall hard, but know that this story is also heartbreaking, not because of dumb teenage mistakes, or misspoken words, it's on a totally different level when it came to pulling on my heartstrings. Family plays a big part in the book, not that they haven't before, but I love how close these kids are to their parents and how the original Raiders have stayed close to make it one big family as the years have gone by.

This book will require lots of tissues so be prepared and stock up. I could have used wipers for my eyeballs so I could continue reading through the tears.

Missed Notes has one of the most emotional storylines, but the book was well worth it.

Grab a box of tissues! You’re gonna need them. This book gives you all the feels. It will have you laughing, crying, and swooning all at the same time. This book blew me out of the water and I could not put it down. I thought I had already found my favorite Rixon couple but boy was I wrong! Cole and Sofia are couple goals. LA Cotton you have really out done yourself in the best way possible!

I'm both stunned and in awe right now.

That book was one of the most emotionally charged and poignant that I have read in a long while. Unconditional love, mortality, self-sacrifice, guilt, remorse, hope... I could continue to list the endless topics that the book touches on but I won't.

Cole always seemed like he had a special connection with Sofia and this book only confirmed it.
The way they fit together seamlessly—like they were meant to be together—was beautiful.
If you could feel it there before, it became a bright neon sign during this book.
Sofia had so much to work through in this book, and I'm so glad that waiting for Cole to get his act together wasn't part of it. In fact, his presence was very much needed for her to endure her trials.

I really don't want to say too much and ruin the story for anyone but I will say: If you have had your heart battered by Mrs Cotton before, come prepared for this book because it is not a light and easy read. It is heavy, gritty, raw and super emotional. But also, it's flipping fantastic!

This beyond beautiful story is one that is also heartbreaking and soul shattering that had me invested in every detail that was on the page. Sofia and Cole’s story isn’t one that is easy, but it is worth every up and down. In previous books we saw how Sofia and Cole seemed to be close and yet distant to each other, but now everything is changing. Sofia’s life is being flipped upside down as well as Cole’s and we get to see more into his home life. He is a beautiful soul who is absolutely in love with Sofia, he is talented, loyal, and all around perfect. He struggles to live up to his father’s expectations of his future when he wants to pave his own path, but will he ever stand up for what he wants or follow what has been laid before him? The closer Cole and Sofia get the more they help each other discover what they really want and encourage each other to go for it. They make each other better and when things start to take a different turn they lean on the other for their support. This group of friends and family are ones we have seen grow over the years and their bonds are ones anyone would envy. I loved the support they had for each other, the love they all shared, and even when Mr. Rixon Raider himself, Jason said, “..there is never a choice between the girl you love and the game you play…” my heart could not have grown any bigger, but it did. (Swoon, Coach Ford, swoon). Epically beautiful, beautifully tragic, and all around amazing! Cole and Sofia taught me that no matter the circumstances that life throws our way it means everything who is standing in your corner when times get tough and who loves you so much, they'll be your strength.

Holy cow. Did we really just finish the second generation of the Rixon Raiders?? I’m so sad, it can’t be over!!
And holy tears, Sofia’s and Cole’s story brings out all of the emotions!!

This story changes the game. It’s not silly high school drama, worrying about if her brother is going to be upset about her relationship with Cole anymore. It’s real life, something is actually wrong and we have to face it head on drama. It was so heart wrenching.

Sofia had started to get fainting spells in Aaron and Poppy’s book, so we pick up right where that book left off, and Cole reveals the everyone that Sofia has been lying about the amount of times she’s passed out. Sofia gets upset with Cole, but Cole was just trying to get Sofia to see she needed help. On the other hand, Cole needed the push from Sofia icing him out to realize that if he wanted Sofia, he had to fight for her and stand up to Aaron for her. Aaron was obvious and also protective of his twin, so he wasn’t going to be very forgiving about their relationship.

The heartbreaking thing is that Sofia thinks she needs to go through her sickness alone. She doesn’t tell her brother right away or her friends, instead choosing to keep putting it off when she really needed everyone to rally around her to help her fight.

Cole is fighting his own demons at home, specifically his awful father. He doesn’t see Cole as his own person, and tries to control his future. He wants Cole to follow in his footsteps and is threatening him if he won’t go where he wants Cole to go. It’s hard to stand up to your parents, but Cole has to stand up for himself if he wants a future for himself.

Cole and Sofia’s struggles in this story aren’t trivial or childish dramas. It was a realistic and major life altering drama. It was so emotional, and heartbreaking. I was tearing up, struggling to get through without crying! Such a good story to finish the series on! I cannot wait for the final conclusion next summer, to see where everyone ends up!! All the stars to our beloved Rixon Raiders!! #RixonRaiderForever

If you’ve seen my Instagram then you already know how much I love this book. I absolutely devoured every word of Cole and Sofia’s story. This is the most heartbreaking book I’ve ever read by Lianne but it was so worth all the tears and angst. Cole is without a doubt the perfect boyfriend. Despite Sofia’s hesitations and doubts, Cole’s love for her never wavered and he never left her side. I mean he wrote her songs, made a bucket list with her & refused to ever give up on her. Even in her sickness she never stoped inspiring Cole to chase his dreams and never stopped fighting for herself. The growth & determination the two of them shared throughout the whole book made my heart so happy.

This book gave me all the feels and I was smiling and laughing through my tears. Through the toughest time of Sofia’s life, all of her friends and family came together and would do anything to help her. The love between everyone in the Rixon universe fills my heart every time I read about them. I seriously can’t believe we’re almost at the end. One last epilogue novel and I have to say goodbye to this universe forever

I highly highly recommend this book and the entire series to anyone who’s a fan of angst, high school romance & found family. I love love love Lianne’s writing and I will never get enough of this universe

Tropes:
- Brothers Best Friend
- High school sports romance
- friends to lovers

Tw: Cancer, illnesses, please look up before reading!

this was a good book. so while not my favorite of them all i did really like how they were in a relationship early on and there was no stupid third act breakup. i thought it was weird how much time was soent with aaron but not poppy. i loved cole and sofia together but i just didn’t feel super intensely for them. the pacing also for sure felt a little odd. i am excited for the big epilogue book later though because i want everyone to get their ending!
as i read: i’m so happy they are starting a relationship early and not just fighting against it. i love that they’re just really together and not back and forth the whole time. i don’t understand why poppy is barely in this like her and aaron are always together why do sofia and poppy spend like not time together.
