We finally get a look into Eren's head. And it's devastating, saddening, disturbing.
Devastating because there is no way left that he has some kind of twist planned. He is hellbent on destroying everyone else, even though he knows that this is not the way it should be, that maybe the people of Paradis should die. But he can't accept that. And this is the only answer left for him.
Saddening because he is not an evil person per se. He knows what he's doing is wrong. He regrets it. He laments it. He is in conflict with his own plan. But he does not see an alternative. And time was running out for him to make his move, so he went ahead.
Disturbing because he wishes notging more than to see his dream come true. And his soul might finally break. His mind might finally shatter. And he might flee into an alternate reality in his mind where he can experience that freedom of being outside the walls with all his friends.

I read this chapter while listening to 進撃vn-pf20130524巨人 (Season 1 OST II).

And so we finally get a good look at the rumbling, and it's as terrifying and horrible as we could imagine - even moreso, really. But we got a glimpse into Eren's head too, which might have been the saddest part.
