You would think a concept like this would be amazing, along with what is essentially a blank slate princess (she was barely in the movie), but I think it fell flat. Aurora is trapped in her dream world with Phillip and have to work together to find a way free. Phillip as a character kind of fits his counterpart in the movie, as an earnest and reluctant prince. The fairies are different but still believable when they become stern but loving fairies. The problem lies with Aurora. Her character is way too different. It feels like a completely different person. Malificent is once again the stand out character, but she's always been the HBIC. At least that stayed the same.
