I like this way more than I was expecting to. The title had me worried that he was going to be an alpha jerk type love interest (not my favorite), but he was actually so sweet and caring.  This is a slow burn romance.

I like the twist of the humans being the ones going to this planet, and the aliens not having been the ones to have kidnapped the women from Earth. The kidnapping and premise of the mission are things that I'm a little skeptical over plot-wise, but if you don't think about it too hard, it's still an enjoyable read. The world-building in this was interesting. I like when there's still a hint of magic in my science fiction.

The language barrier trope is one of my favorites. I like that the main character in this has a linguistic background, and there was an attempt at actually learning each other's languages.

I'm excited to read the other books in this series. I was hoping the next one would be about Taliok or Galok, but it looks like it's about Chapman and Fallo. It seems like it will be important to read these in order.
