This is my personal review without spoilers of the actual plot.
This book pleasantly surprised me, wow what a beautiful story, what grant language. This is a snowflake! a rare jewel that captures the readers in its Victorian style. The author is able to draw you in; it seems like you´re walking alongside the characters of this book able to assist them on making the right choices.
It´s indeed difficult not to either hate or love the well-written characters.
In terms of the genre, it is difficult to determine. It has fantasy elements, it`s historical however fictional. Romance is an important theme as well. I would not characterize this book as a LGBT though. I have read that people consider this part of that genre but I disagree. It has two separate scenes and I have to say that, I loved those two pages with a passion. Reread them like four or five times, could barely believe it happened I was so thrilled. I chose this book fully on the fact that it appeared to be an LGBT book but this is the last time I chose a book based on the genre. It has been sad to miss this beautiful book. Talking about beauty, my god what a good-looking book. I might be worth choosing a book due to its appearances.
I am so glad to have bought this book; it certainly is not the last time I have read this. In addition, I am sure that the next time I read it, I will gain even more from it then I did the first time.

I barely have anything bad to say about this book. The only thing even remotely negative I have to say would be how difficult it was getting started. The first 50 or so pages was dreadful getting past, stopping lots of times thinking I must have missed something but as I progressed beyond that point of getting used to the writing the book almost read itself.
The words flew out the book painting a picture of London in the 19th century it became visible and so real wishing you could talk with the people you have gotten to know.
What amazing writing, fantastic main characters it was nice getting to know them in a different way than usual. The flashbacks to previous places, different times was amazing.
The book will receive 4.5 out of 5

Непростая история отношений.
Может я стала менее яростно отвергать книги, может еще что произошло, но Часовщик мне понравился. Тут очень трогательная магия, она как бы даже отсутствует, если не считать того, что часовщик обладает уникальным умением. Но об этом чуть позже.
Книга хороша тем, что девочка, создавая ее потрудилась очень сильно. Тут и книги, которые были тогда в обиходе и физические эксперименты, пусть не медиумы, но эфир, как знаковая часть периода - присутствовал. Тут описание Лондона, его бытовой части, пусть не полностью, пусть поверхностно, но это точные сведения, так же, как и музыкальная составляющая книги. И без нее никуда, наш главный герой, с кем происходят небывалые события пианист, хоть и работает на телеграфе. И его работа описана интересно и его способности к работе описаны хорошо. И почему он пошел на эту работу и его неожиданное понимание, что он застрял в быту. Это понятно, просто, доходчиво и логично. Ты читаешь именно о человеке, которого мог бы встретить и сейчас.
Часовщик прекрасен тем, что он тоже понятен. Чем больше ты о нем узнаешь, тем больше его понимаешь. И за него так расстраиваешься, когда расстраивается он. Это не какие-то уникальные персонажи, нет, но они написаны с любовью, не ради написать, а ради рассказать их историю. И заодно, тут возникает и поучительный момент с той же девочкой, которая нет чтобы дружить, сразу пошла враждой на человека и как же до нее доходит, что ведь все могло пойти иначе, если бы она пришла к человеку с куском торта, а не с палкой и пакостными мыслишками. И ты читая бесишься на эту бабу, но, когда до нее доходит - выдыхаешь, все же не потерянная для общества девица. Тут очень много написано просто, но показательно. Тут и интрига красивая, и взаимоотношения людей очень хорошо показаны. Все их страхи, заблуждения и трогательность, когда наконец-то сбывается мечта - ты думаешь, а тебя слышат и произносить вслух слова не надо. Давно я не читала такого трогательного любовного признания.
Книга трогательная, автор очень аккуратна и подходит к своим героям с любовью. Такое приятно читать.

Таниэль слегка улыбнулся. Так оно и было. До взрыва бомбы он был другим человеком.
