I don’t have any words at all. I’m flabbergasted and I knew that was coming, but holy shit.
I picked this book up while I was in Raleigh for 10 cents. WOW. I really wasn't expecting much but it has just blown me away. The book is set in the not too distant future of the US and describes the life of Offred, a handmaid. The story shows a society were women are stripped of all of their rights and forced into ranks and duties. A very captivating and intense read.

The writing style was not my cup of taste. It was first person perspective but it felt very distant. I could not really get into the book.
