An interesting story and unique premise. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. The storytelling style is fun and while I knew where the story would end, the path was not entirely predictable. I would recommend to readers who enjoy magical realism/ low fantasy. I also appreciated that there was no real romance subplot.

Going to be in a serious book hangover for this book, read it in one sitting and almost cried several times, the connections of language and family and homeland and cultural settings was just perfect
