I was terribly frustrated by this. I love Oliver and Elizabeth. Sarah Adams developed great characters and their interactions were wonderful. I really wanted to like it, but I just didn’t. Oliver’s fears were understandable and I was rooting for him to figure out his trauma and work through it the entire book. Every time he had a conversation with Elizabeth I was yelling, “Figure it out NOW! Tell her about it NOW!” But it didn’t happen. He continued to push her away. By the end of the book, I started to like Wesley and think Elizabeth would be better off with him! He knew what he wanted, treated her with respect and took a chance. I started to feel bad for him and hope she chose him! What!? Oliver needed to step up earlier. In my opinion, it was too little too late. Elizabeth deserved better than that. I was rooting for them for 90% of the book and finally I gave up.
