very late review lol

This book is full of everything I love. Wlw romance, women rising up against a oppressive society, and a fairytail retelling. The first 100 pages were interesting and I had high hopes for the rest of it. But, it was disappointing. The characters are bland, the romance is underdeveloped, and the plot is predictable and lacks complexity.

Read from 8/11/20 - 13/11/20

"I am left just as I am, and after all this time, I know it is enough"

This book truly has it all. While having a romance so good it made me giggle and kick my feet (I feel so represented as a sapphic girl and it makes me so warm to be understood on this level) it still makes me feel on the edge of my seat, the action sequences have that perfect thrill one wants and the overall message is perfectly executed. Furthermore this book, while having all these amazing things, still encompasses the YA-feeling I search for in my books.

For YA readers, who want a perfect story with a compelling message, for queer people wishing to be understood just a little more, for everyone who picks up this book: I hope you get the same joy out of this book as I got. I love this book.

I liked it , but I didn't love it as much as I thought I would. I was hoping the relationship between the MC's would develop more. It was not believable to me.

After having this book on my shelf for a year and a half I finally got to reading it... Some aspects where really predictable in this story, yet very entertaining and empowering.

I really enjoyed Cinderella is Dead! It was a creative story, and I liked the characters. The main character is a queer Black girl, and I appreciated seeing this representation in a fairy tale-related YA fantasy book. Give us more of these to read! There were some tense scenes, and I was invested in the story the entire time. I would love to check out whatever Kalynn Bayron does next.
