Seems good but I read a whole book's worth of backstory and the plot was just BARELY getting started. Might pick it up again later but I just didn't have the stamina.

So long! I enjoyed the sciencey bits about geo engineering and how it might could work. As with books about pandemics, I've been trying to avoid books about the climate apocalypse - I gotta get up in the morning girl. It was very "government sucks! the rich people will save us!! Long live oligarchy, I guess?!!?!" And I just don't believe that anyone is coming to save us from climate change. Also, so frigging long!!

stephenson’s need to share all his research can be a lot but it was all really interesting in this case, and once it clears the setup in the first act is a rollicking ride
