I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SERIES!!! The close-knit ties of the Montgomery brothers and how they all rally around each other and their loved ones just continues to make me swoon.

This is book #3 of the series and while they are standalones, I definitely recommend reading in order, so previous books aren't spoiled for you. If you do decide to read this one first though, the author does a great job at including bits and pieces of the previous books' events in a subtle way, so it doesn't come off as just a bland recap.

I was nervous starting this read because I was so annoyed with Ford by the end of book #2. But oh man did my opinion about him change fast! Having his pov made me see him in a whole new light and realize how broken he was inside, trying to find his place and let go of the past. I really enjoyed his energetic personality being mixed with a healthy dose of working on bettering himself. He was definitely still an ass sometimes but didn't hesitate to call himself out on his own bullshit and apologize when it was owed.

As for our FMC -- Reese was perfect to me. I wanted to just grab her and wrap her in an hour-long hug, god knows she needed it! The struggles Reese dealt with, and the outside pressure would have made even the strongest person fold. But she continues to put one foot in front of the other and try. Not every day is a success and of course there are missteps along the way but seeing her find her confidence and her spark made it easy to root for her.

The dynamic between Reese and Ford was electric, their banter funny, and their chemistry fire. I loved how both had a bit of insta-lust for the other but their actual "fuck it" moment took a little bit to get to. The banter and tension leading up to it made me more invested in their relationship. Also had me all that much more excited when their first "get it out of our system" scene happened!!!!

This book definitely deals with some heavy mental health themes, and I was emotional many times. But as someone who deals with chronic depression, I truly think this was one of the best representations of depression I've read within a romance book. It also showed the importance of just showing up for someone -- it's what Ford kept doing for Reese, his acts of love for her were so freaking precious.

Overall, another 5-star read from this author for me! I loved the story arc, the angst, us getting more pieces of the other family members' lives, and of course the sexy cowboys! Highly recommend this series for all the country romance fans!!!

Thank you to the author and Valentine PR for the opportunity to read early via an e-ARC. Review is my own honest opinion.

This one fell flat. It just felt like a twist on the Britney Spears story, and I couldn’t connect to Reese at all. Ford was sweet. The book felt so long but the ending felt rushed - everything just “happened” to work out.

I just don’t think a rockstar/regular person romance ever works for me.
