Another amazing cowboy romance from Ava Hunter. I am obsessed with this whole series. I loved how at odds Reese and Ford are at the beginning of this book. The banter between them was absolutely perfect. Watching these two overcome their issues together was amazing. This series continues to be the perfect blend of swoony romance and suspense.

I had pretty low hopes for this one because Ford was my least favorite Montgomery brother, because I didn’t like his attitude in the first and second books.
But he really came around. I learned why he was the way he was. He was a bit of a jerk to Reese, but he had the same sort of protectiveness as his brothers (that seems to be a trend with them). But most importantly, he believed in her and stood up for her at all times.
Reese is probably my favorite FMC in this series so far. I sympathized with her needing a break. Life had dealt her a crappy hand up until this point, and I found myself wanting to give her a hug. But she was also fierce, challenged herself, and supported Ford like he did her.
The banter was funny and convincing, and it was one of the things that kept me going. Even when the two of them couldn’t stand each other, they were entertaining. I could feel their chemistry.
Gavin will go down as one of my most hated characters in history. I’m not going to waste any more time talking about him.
Davis and Charlie pissed me off at first, but they grew to accept Reese, and those found family vibes that were present in the first two books were present here as well.
TW: gaslighting, past suicide attempt (off-page), drugging

please please please for all authors stop giving characters ridiculous nickname.
Graphic: Self harm, Suicidal thoughts, Kidnapping, Suicide attempt, Gaslighting
If you’re looking for over-protective cowboys, an insane amount of drama and happy endings, Ava Hunter is definitely the author for you. I find myself gravitating towards her books when I need a fix of that intense, protective, “I don’t have to be the strong one right now” vibe.
