Popstar meets Cowboy

This was so good. Reese stole my heart. I love her, and it was so nice to see her characters find worth and love. Ford was the perfect grump, and I didn't really like him in the other books, but hearing his inner thoughts helped me like him more even when he was being an a-hole. If you liked the other 2 books in this series, you will love this. It is a little repetitive(in storyline) and predictable, but the emotions and relationships are written so well. I appreciate the author writing a great epilogue and an AMAZING extended epilogue(not in a newsletter). I love the formula of this series, and I can't wait for the next book.

"Kissing Reese is like soaking my soul in gas and setting my heart on fire."

I am obsessed with this series from Ava Hunter. These books are beautiful in their depth and detail. While the romance is the heart of the narratives, Ava also constructs these complex characters dealing with real world issues. Burn the Wild will have you feeling all the emotions. My heart ached for these flawed and broken characters.

Reese is burned out. She has been at the top of her singing career from a young age but is unable to break free or stop the juggernaut of her success. She is given an escape by a friend on tour who sends her in the direction of Runaway Ranch. Ford is back on the ranch with his family. He too is seeking refuge and comfort. He has his own trauma to manage and recover from.

This book deals brilliantly with two leads battling with mental health and trauma. There is no shying away from emotion of it. Both Ford and Reese accept each others truths and love each other even more fiercely for it. Their connection is soul deep and heart healing.

Burn the Wild is an emotional storm. You feel alongside these two from their tempestuous first impressions, to the sizzling attraction, to the falling and comfort they find in one another other. It is a gripping 5 star that I didn't want to end.
