wrong time, good book situation - i think though the writing style is wisely chosen for this book it is so difficult to read and keep up, making it harder to read. i adored sara and her story -
my fave scene was with harry when they both had a heart to heart.
and how the system failed to protect her from those diet pills. excited to compare it to the movie.

DID NOT FINISH

I can’t with this book right now it’s soooo slow

I initially docked a star from this book because I found the writing style to be a bit difficult to read (it reads like a stream of consciousness and does not have quotation marks to signify dialogue). However, it has been two months since finishing this book, and I’m still thinking about it so I’m going to bump it up to five stars

I'm not even going to waste my time. I was really looking forward to finally getting to this book. I love the movie a lot and figured it would be more gritty and dark. The writing is not clever or ground-breaking or whatever it's called. It's lazy writing using the excuse of creative freedom and uninterrupted word flow to try and excuse it.
I'm so so disappointed.

Really a 2.5 star rating. The look into the addicts' heads was good, maybe even very good, but the other story, of Sara, descended into eye-rolling, manipulative melodrama.

Intensely difficult to read with no promises of a happy ending. I couldn't still help but hope there would be something redeeming for the characters, but it never came. This book will stay with me for a while. The syntax was challenging in the first few pages, but I soon got used to deciphering the pages of words without punctuation/quotation marks.
