contiues into a 2nd book but given I'd taken to skimming by the end, I am unlikely to continue unless I'm stuck for something to read.

All I wish is for Misha and Paige’s relationship to be resolved I. The series bc book. It’s good that we got a “foundation” of their relationships from both parties individually so we’ll know how that holds up for sure in the second book.
I just feel bad for Rose after that little tête a tête she had with miss P 😫😭

Such a great read!!
I almost didn't bother leaving a written review for this book because I want to dive into the second one ASAP, so badly!! But, I'll calm myself, take a deep breath, and write a little something.
The main female character, Paige, has basically hit rock bottom. Her 'husband' has left her. She's broke, homeless, and hungry. She has things lined up for herself, but it'll take a little bit of time to get her feet back on the ground. After tangling with a snobby little French man, she encounters a mysterious, dangerous looking man. He decides to help her out a little. That little bit of help eventually leads to more. More becomes a one night stand, which ends up becoming much more than that, as well!
Paige and her 'mystery man', the new Don of the Bratva, are both stubborn and keep butting heads. Feelings start secretly forming, though, and making things more complicated. Thankfully, this book is multiple POV, so you get into the minds of both of them.
The end of this book is "mind blowing", so if you'll excuse me, I need to jump into book #2!!!

I'm going to be honest here. I have zero idea why I'm rating this book 4 stars. I struggled to get through it. It wasn't bad. I'm not saying that I disliked it. It was just long. This book was so very very long and it just felt unnecessary. I did like the characters, or at least I was invested in the characters, which is why I ended up finishing it. I almost DNF (at least for now) several times, but I am proud to say that I finished the entire 600+ pages of this book. And I did enjoy the story. I liked the author's writing style. This book was very easy to read. There was a lot of dialogue, so just be prepared for that if you don't enjoy it. There was a lot of things that just made no sense at all. Like at all. However, we are just going to ignore them because it is fiction so fictionally speaking, maybe it works in this world? I don't know. But I did overall like this book, or at least I was invested in it. The real question though is will I be continuing this series. And the answer is yes, I will. I am invested in these characters and their lives, so now I need to know what happens to them.
