4 stars. This book wasn’t what I was expecting. The “gaps” that the summary talks about actually don’t really come into play until the very end and to me it felt very minor. I did like story though. And I’m always a fan of magical realism.

this was strange but fun! pretty solid YA book. bit of Raven Cycle vibes to be honest..

4.5 stars. Love, loved this book! So different. So interesting (well, obviously, considering I read it in a day). I'm usually not a big fan of magical realism, but I am definitely more open to it if it's like Bone Gap! This book had just enough magic to make you believe in it. Loved the writing as well--beautiful and captivating. Read it!
dark emotional mysterious medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Loveable characters: Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus: Complicated

So dreamy and gooey like honey! So glad I finally got a chance to read it.
I liked the characters and the whole Sean and Roza dynamic drove me crazy! I am so mad at him so so so mad
and sweet baby Petey is such a delight!

I guess it's safe to say magical realism isn't my cup of tea. I had only heard great things about this book and sadly I was disappointed.

It took me years to read this. I even tried to read a couple times in the past years since this book has been on my radar, but it never stuck till now. Guess i'm a season reader because this book just.. fits with summer so well. Loved reading this story and seeing it unravel in the sunshine with a glass of iced tea.
