One things I loved abou this version was not only the english translation but the spanish original version were side by side. I don't really speak spanish well so I know I don't appreciate it as much as if I did. Also I loved these poems so many amazing ones!

Neruda tiene una forma tan especial de decir las cosas que lo sencillo es complejo, pero con una complejidad genial.

beautiful in a resplendent way at times and i especially loved the death poems (and ofc sonnet … 14? the one about obscure things) but i do think that 1) this translation isn’t my favourite and 2) sometimes neruda makes missteps, but i suppose divisiveness is sometimes necessary if you want to evoke passion in a select few.

Neruda is my favorite poet.

ever since I found sonnet XVII… those were indescribable feelings. I love it way too much.

and to found out it has been translated into my mother tongue this beautifully, oh God hats up for Aan Mansyur
