I’ve read probably around 10 of Lucy Score’s books by now and what I’ve always liked about them if their predictability that you’re gonna pick one up and you’ll get all the funny drama filled friend/family dynamics but it’s probably the first time that a 3rd act breakup pissed me off so much I instantly started questioning my sanity and my taste.
I really thought we would be skipping the totally pointless breakup since the character had been self aware enough to know his issues, everyone around him knew his issues and then he went ahead and it did like the most gigantic cliche ever. WHY?
It served no other purpose than to infuriate me with an added wake up call that was not needed because everyone and their mother knew wtf his issues were and they could have been solved with a simple talk!
Then I backtracked a bit and realized that the whole relationship was ridiculous and the FMC’s whole character was just being the "sexy contractor" unironically.
Now I’m really confused because I had fun reading it but all of the ending chapters were the worst things I’ve ever read combined.
So 3.5/5 stars rounded up to 4 for now I guess.
