Wish I believed in DNF
The author had the premise for a good story and that's the only positive. I wanted to like it. However, by the end of the book, I came to believe that Lucy Score doesn't actually understand romance, let alone love. She conflates pornagraphic writing with romance and arrogant jerkiness for love. It all felt cheap and twisted. Add in the fact the author's overuse of swear words and it became completely detestable. If I had to read the phrase "what the actual f-ing f" one more time, I'd likely have thrown my kindle across the room. And can we just acknowledge the LGBTQ pandering? Four different minor characters existed simply so Lucy could mention their gayness. They literally added no value to the plot and those paragraphs could have been completely left out without changing a bit of the story. They were all mentioned in only one scene just so we could know they were gay.
The most annoying book I've ever read; definitely overhyped. Will not be reaching for another book by this author ever again.
