Honestly the main character was VERY annoying. Constantly pushing Brandon away and being so invested in her job. I understand this might be reasonable for some but it was frustrating to read. The ending was good but predictable.
I read this in less than 24 hours. Not because it's the most amazing book ever written but because I really wanted to make sure she would make the right decision.
It also just resonated with me because in today's society it's almost expected of you to give everything you have to a job to excel and that comes with all kinds of stress and anxiety. Not to mention all the other things we're stressed and anxious about (money, family, friends, pandemic, etc.). The majority of the United States hasn't figured out work/life balance yet so you have to figure that out for yourself.

I read Life, Unscheduled for the PopSugar Reading Challenge prompt "book with the name of a board game in the title." The main character, Nicole, is trying to balance a ridiculously demanding tech job with a new romance and the responsibilities of being maid of honor to her best friend, Parisa. Nicole's toxic workplace reminded me a lot of my first job out of law school. The book was entertaining, but also a thoughtful examination of work addiction. I will look for more books by this author.
I loved this book. I was in a reading slump and this book brought me out of it. Light and refreshing!
