Another brilliant addition to the Amelia Fang series. I adore these characters and their world and loved seeing them out of their comfort zone in the Kingdom of Light.

I read this at bedtime whilst my 6 yr old daughter had her Early Reader Royal Fairy chapter book out. However I found someone reading over my shoulder and tonight I said she could start it from the beginning. Lots of short chapters for young readers getting more confident. Lots of witty pictures and not too much writing on each page. Some pages are white writing on black.
I loved the friendship story in book one and this is book 2 in the Amelia Fang series, which sees the gang with help from King Vlad, try to find Tangine's mother who was taken and is hidden somewhere in the Kingdom of Light! The friends are all disguised to blend in with hilarious results. Florence is disguised as a unicorn which is very funny.
Illustrated beautifully and with great humour throughout {I loved the top hat on the unicorn at the feast} I could not put this down and highly recommend you use your World Book Day voucher to get a £1 off the price and discover what makes Amelia Fang such a special fur-riend.

Amelia Fang and the Unicorn Lords by Lauren Ellen Anderson, is the second book in the wonderful Amelia Fang series, and I loved it. This was another read that was part of the Believeathon 2 in May and I just can't get enough of this series.

I love the illustrations, the word play, it's highly hilarious for adults as well as children which I think is a fabulous thing to be able to write. I especially love Grimaldi, I think he's got to be my favourite character in all the books so far. Even as a 25 year old, I can resonate with Florence, I just love her language it makes me laugh. The adventure out of Nocturnia is a great and fun twist and was very enjoyable to read and to see what the gang up to next!

If you're looking for a new children's series for your little ones, I would highly recommend this one. Andersons writing style is beautiful and a pleasure to read. I can't wait to read the rest of the series.

Another fantastic story!

In this adventure, Amelia and her friends venture into the Kingdom of the Light to try and locate Fairyweather. Knowing how unicorns, fairies, etc. feel about creatures from Nocturnia, they decide to disguise themselves in some clever and hilarious outfits and go undercover.

I loved getting to explore the Kingdom of the Light, meet new creatures like angel-kittens and leprechauns (McSparkle's upbeat personality and sense of humour was brilliant). I really liked seeing Florence take on an even bigger role in the story. Her straightforward and honest attitude are so endearing, they made it even funnier when she was trying to stay in character while undercover.

The mystery in this book was excellent and I love the way each installment is contributing to the overall Amelia Fang story.

Amelia Fang and the Unicorn Lords is the second book in the Amelia Fang series and is just as fun as the first! Amelia Fang and the Barbaric Ball saw us discover that the King of Nocturnia had married Fairyweather, a fairy from the Kingdom of the Light but that she had disappeared many years previously. In this book we join Amelia and her friends as they venture into the Kingdom of the Light to try and reunited the king and Tangine with Fairyweather

Once again the book is stunningly illustrated with a map of the Kingdom of the Light and portrait gallery taking up a couple of double page spreads. There are illustrations on most pages which means the text is fairly spread out and the high page count isn’t as daunting as it may seem at first, I read the book myself in an hour or so. At 18 chapters it’s a great introduction to chapter books for young readers who are moving on from the picture book stage. There’s plenty to delight them within the pages, it will make a great bedtime story over the course of a week or so!

I was already familiar with the characters after reading the first book but the illustrations really drove the story on again, I especially loved seeing our friends in their Kingdom of the Light disguises. Squashy the Pumpkin as a daisy was a particular highlight!

Once again our central character Amelia was the driving force of their friendship group. She was determined to reunite Tangine with his mum, and despite a setback or two along the way she kept pushing on, proving once again what I kind hearted little vampire she was! I’m still finding Grimaldi to be the cutest death! I really hope that one of the future books focuses a little more on him!

Final Thoughts
Amelia Fang and the Unicorn Lords was another fantastic book from Laura. With the beautiful illustrations and fun plot I can easily see why this series is so popular with children!

My spoiler-free reading vlog of the entire Amelia Fang series: https://youtu.be/YeypPeXDGho

This was even better than the first Amelia Fang book!

In Amelia Fang and the Unicorn Lords, we follow our crazily loveable gang as they venture into the SCARIEST PLACE EVER KNOW - Glitteropolis! They’re on a mission to find out what happened to Prince Tangine’s missing mother and they stumble upon a huge conspiracy that could change EVERYTHING in their world.

There’s an adventure element to this one that I absolutely love as Anderson expands Amelia Fang’s world. I love seeing what’s beyond Nocturnia, and traversing the Kingdom of the Light proved to be quite a thrill! I love seeing the characters develop and it’s funny to see how they get out of their bizarre situations. I love little details like ladybird phones and rainbow trains and, wow, I can’t praise enough the level of imagination that goes into creating Amelia Fang’s world.

And the illustrations are still AMAZING!! Can’t wait to see what’s next for our gang. Into book 3 we go...

Read- March 2020 for Middle Grade March
- This really is just a wonderful series to jump into at any point.

The second in Laura Ellen Anderson’s Amelia Fang series finds Amelia and friends travelling to the Kingdom of the Light and face their fears.

Amelia is on a quest to rescue Tangine’s mother, Queen Fairyweather who has been missing for a while now.

Disguises are donned, angel-kittens are faced, puns are plotted, unicorns are discovered. New friendships are forged and truths uncovered in the frightening Kingdom of the Light.

Once more a fast-paced, funny adventure that takes the traditional ideas of Dark and Light and twists and plays with it in a good-natured way.

Very popular and so many youngsters have been asking for Book 3 and were sad that it wasn’t out yet but pleased when I could tell them when it was coming out, none of us though are very good at waiting.
