This book was adorable! I loved the audio and was able to speed through it. I honestly wanted this to be more of a love triangle between the love interest and best friend and I played myself by wanting a love line with the wrong character

I'm an Indigo Employee, and I received an Advanced Readers Copy of this book from Indigo Books & Music - in exchange for my honest review.
SPOILERS AHEAD.
This book was so cute! A little unrealistic, but laugh out loud funny. I had so much fun reading it - although parts of the book did really irritate me. I found it unrealistic and really annoying that Desi missed her interview - it seemed really unlike her character - because of how long she'd wanted to do this. I really loved the fact that Desi and her dad had such a healthy, mature relationship. Desi was a little unhinged - and hard to like at times - the things she did were reckless, unbelievable, and dangerous at times. But you sort of had to suspend your disbelief, and it became a cute, funny romance.

It was so cheesy and funny and cute I definitely laughed too loud quite a few times.. thanks for getting me out my reading slump!!
I was attracted to this book because of my own love for K-dramas, but I sadly didn’t end up loving this book. The two main characters need therapy and I liked the side characters more than them. The plot was just ok.
I picked this up for my Physical TBR challenge and it wasn't really a hit for me.
Desi is a straight A student, never disappointed her father, is very active in all school activities. That type of YA girl. As a kdrama fan, I really liked the story concept of the whole "kdrama steps to love" list and just the whole vibes did scream a very cheesy kdrama rom-come to me. It was just the story went a bit too far in my opinion, some stuff Desi does is just straight up crazy. I didn't like her train of thoughts most of the time or how she kind of abandoned her friends for most of the story for a guy. Also, the ending was just not it for me, she didn't seem to have learned anything until the epilogue, which was just wild to me.
What I did like was the beginning, which was very enjoyable and I loved all the kdrama references. Her dad was very cute, her friends were a solid group and, most of all, when Desi stopped being so obsessed she had a really cute connection with Luca. Also there were some really funny parts in here.
So the main issue is that I'm outgrew this type of story. I think I would have enjoyed it more when I was younger. So I don't really want to give it a low rating, but I'm giving it a 2,5 stars, but will round it up to a 3 because I feel it's more a Me thing than a book thing. I really should just read books when I buy them so I don't outgrow them like this one.
Rating: 2,5 stars.

Pop Sugar’s 2018 Reading Challenge - A book by an author of a different ethnicity than you
