This is my favorite out of the series. I love the trope where the woman has been wronged by the man and they somehow overcome it to have their happy ending. I hope the author releases more books for this series soon.

I really loved the best friends, second chance storyline in this book, it was really well written, i really felt their connection to eachother, their hurt and heartbreak and all those regretful and angsty feeling upon their reunion.
Great book and an enjoyable read

Tough to rate! In many ways it's definitely the strongest by far. I think the character work and plotting were both an improvement, and it expanded the world and setting. In particular, she was my favorite heroine of the series to date and it was the couple that most emotionally resonated with me. That said, I don't enjoy second chance as a trope, for the same reasons I didn't enjoy this one -- too much heartbreaking backstory and not enough development for me to fully recover from it.

The way this got me right at the beginning with Maeva falling so hard, so purely for her best friend, Kiran…and his painful emotional constipation. Loved how she was never ashamed of her love even as the pain from the loss ate at her. Kiran’s POV once they reunited was fantastic - between both POVs you get such a rich sense of shared history between them. And get to experience his determination in righting his past wrongs. Loved that Maeva was a boss healer in her own right, and her close relationships with her adopted father and sister. I can’t stop devouring these books!

I ALMOST skipped this book. I read the first three a couple months ago, but when I saw tropes for this one and some of the reviews, I was hesitant. I put the series down because I loved Madness of the Horde King and wanted to end on a high note.

Let me tell you, I am SO glad I picked this back up again. The ANGST

Solid barbarian romance. If you don’t like second chance romance then this one probably isn’t for you.  Zoey Draven always has a background plot that runs through her series and we got a bit more in this installment, but not as much as usual. It was fine…. It was what I thought it would be, a barbarian romance.
