It starts off strong, and is full of likable characters, but the second half goes off the rails a bit. Still mostly enjoyable, but I'm not sure if I'll continue and read the rest of the series.
I really loved this book--it is a very cool new fantasy world, with dragons! and magic! The characters are all really interesting and I loved all the politics and intrigue--very fun and interesting read.
I enjoyed the first 60% or so, as the prince and princess worked to build a better kingdom and find their happiness.
But after that, it went downhill.the rape of the prince, peincess, and his attempted rape of his wife was just too much. it ruined every bit of care i had for the prince and I no longer wanted him to be the winner, though the highprince wasn't any better.
But after that, it went downhill.

DNF @ >200 pages because nothing fucking happened in the first 200+ pages, and I sure as shit didn't feel like wasting more time with this book.
Also, this book has the worst romance I've read in any book ever, including strictly YA romance novels. It's not even love at first sight. It's love BEFORE first sight. It's like it was written by a 14 year old virgin, who's never been in any sort of romantic relationship but has watched way too many Disney movies.

Love this book! It is so well written and sucks you straight in from the word go. Definitely a book that I found hard to put down.
