This book had way more crazy twists and turns than any of the other books. The craziest ones being Emily going to Amish country and Hanna going to a psych hospital. A continues to leave clues for the girls to follow, but they don’t end up leading anywhere. The mystery seems to be solved, but there is definitely more to the story.
After the fire, no one believes the girls when they insist that they saw Alison. The girls each receive a separate clue, which leads them to four different people as Ali's murderer. They realize they have all been tricked when they are arrested for Ali's murder.
Despite the "Oh my God"s that seem to populate every page, there is no suspense left. You could kill a main character at this point and I wouldn't bat an eye. The original four books in the series had been so much fun to read, but they've been tainted by the continuation. This series is dead, it's been milked dry. There is not a single new thing you can possibly present at this point. The series has lost all credibility. Every time the "killer" is caught or "A" is found, it's never the correct person. Every new love interest is a potential killer. Every new friend is a potential killer.
Ok I am officially done with this book series...the author has carried it out for way to long. But I needed to know what happens so I read a summary of every book after this one. Even after I found out everything I wanted 2 know there are still like 3 more books! She just keeps writing and its just really bad...DONT waste your time reading these books if you really wanna know what happens and you watch the TV show just go and read a summary of all the books @ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pretty_Little_Liars
READING THESE BOOKS IS A WASTE OF TIME GO FIND A BETTER SERIES!!!!

I'd had a long week last week (my pager went off starting at 1:30 PM and didn't stop for 18 hours.) I was too tired to do pretty much anything. Including getting up from the couch to find my book. So I did what any reasonable person would do, found the first ebook available from my library and downloaded it to my laptop.
I have intermittently watched the TV show of the same name (after it was recommended to me by a patient) and found it extremely entertaining - dark, dramatic and yet with relevance to actual teenage issues, without being a Very Special Show. So I chose Heartless from the library (none of the other books in the series were available.)
On the one hand, it was a quick read - it took me less than two hours. The characters were flat. There was no thematic intentions. I can ignore all of that for a good mystery, but literally nothing happened in Heartless. There were a couple of interesting plot threads, but they were left completely without conclusions. Very Ho-Hum.

Say what you want about Sara Shepard, but the woman knows how to write a cheap-thriller. I read 21 chapters before I went to my course and it took about two and a half hours.
Saturday morning I had five books opened and three of them nearly finished, and know only one is left. So I may or may not jump on the eighth book today.
Anyway, let's talk a little about the girls. Emily had a spiritual experience. Aria discovered that yet another 'Typical Rosewood Boy' isn't bland and can actually read! -I kid you not. Maybe she'll realize at some point that she isn't as superior as she things and that judging people based on how they look isn't accurate or nice- again, I am not joking. Spencer learn more about her family and Hannah goes to a retreat/mental facility to treat her PTSD.
I hated the ending, why have so many characters if you're going to use some random person making his debut. I hope that book 8 has better ending.
I may have to read the last 8 books (last 8... what kind of series is this?) instead of listening to them, but I think it's doable.

That guy is obvously not the killer. The evidense may point to him but it's not him. It can't be him, but if it's not him then who is it?
Still enjoying this ridiculous series. Can I say it again? I'm getting repetitive, but I have to: These girls are daft. Actually, everyone in this book is a few sandwiches short of a picnic. One more to go and I'll be done with the series.
