Well, I must admit, this book was a pretty fun ride.

Obviously, it is the 7th in the series, so I can't really say much, but what I am going to say, is that I pretty much enjoyed all of the story arcs in book.
At first, I didn't understand the importance or relevance of Hanna's or Emily's, but when the details were revealed, I fully appreciated where Sara went with them.

Like in my last Pretty Little Liars review, the characters were authentic to how we already knew them - which is always a good thing. ;)
Also, the plot twists and the turns within this book were compelling and intriguing. Additionally, with me knowing the major plot twist within the series (the one revealed in the next book), I feel like Sara laid great foundations to get there - the hints are loud and clear.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I can't wait to carry on with the series in 2017!

Ooooh this was fun
But how I wish I hadn't read the #0.5 in the series beforehand! Because instead of being confused about the killer and identities, I feel the need to pick the characters in the book and direct them in right direction.

That being said, I won't say not every mystery is solved; there are yet some leaves to comb ! :D

This one was very surprising.

When I started I was angry because everything that we already knew, the author said, lol that’s a lie and in one chapter the plot of killer was thrown to the trash. But then everything just started to make sense again and I loved it.

I already know the big secret, so I love the appearance of some characters that, if you don’t know the reveal, you think they are unimportant, but the do are important.

I love Aria but I’ve noticed that in most of the books, her story is really senseless. While everyone was uncovering a lot of secrets and having a hard time and following clues, she was just developing a relationship. Especially Hanna’s story, that one was really good, the best of the four.

One thing I loved is how each of the answers each of the liars got, at the end all intertwined and answered a lot of questions but opening a lot more, that keeps you invested.

I absolutely love the new A, I know she is like “the bad” of the series, but I just can’t help loving her. Yes, she made the liars do a lot of bad things, even illegal, but all of that is to help them. I hope I’m right about that.

The end is actually really good. I’ve seen the TV show twice, and everything that is happening now is just far away from the show, so I actually was really surprised with the thing that happened in the end.

Everyone said that the next book is the best so I’m really exited to start that one.

These girls really just don't learn. It doesn't matter what happens to them because they will just repeat the same idiotic mistakes in the next book. And Emily. Oh my god please stop whining! And learn to shut your mouth! In this installment the girls are all given rope and they subsequently hang themselves.

I can't believe I signed up to finish this series!!! Curse me!!!!

Loved it!

Tl;dr: Contrived, a bit nonsensical and not that fun to read, but surprisingly satisfying conclusion.
Well... that was hard to finish. I can't really say why except to reiterate my previous reviews on the pll books 5 and 6. Super contrived, a bit on the nose, and unbelievable. Hannah is the most frustrating in this book because she while ruminating on how Ali had been her best friend and been terrible to her, and how Mona had been her best friend and veen terrible to her, and how Ali had been horrible to Mona for her being a "loser" and how much that sucked - Hannah just makes the same mistake!? Hannah is horrible to the "ugly but nice" girl, befriends the "pretty but mean" girl, and is surprised when it goes tits up for her again??? Like grow Hannah!! Didn't you learn this lesson with Lucas in book 4????? So frustrating!
However I will say (major spoiler) that I really liked a nobody being the killer. Normally in "who- done- it"s you want, in theory to be able to guess who done it. But in the second arc of the same lengthy story with more than one crime to solve, it was surprisingly satisfying and refreshing for our guy to be (almost) no one we've seen before. I believe he's mentioned in passing twice in all 7 books and has no lines. Yet it's still believable that he did it. It was a juxtaposition of the girls obsessively searching through their rosters of friends and family, coming to hard won and convoluted individual conclusions, and suddenly the police are like, no it's just this stranger whose been stalking you girls. It's the book's thesis on destructive obsessive grief. This theme is also pointed at through Aria's search for a psychic, between Emily and her relationship with a girl whose sister went missing, and both Hannah and Spencer in positions to move on and wrecking themselves again and again in the name of finding Ali's killer. It's maddeningly close to something meaningful.

I don't know why I'm so hooked on this series! I love these girls, although Emily is starting to get on my nerves.
