These books are so addicting I can't believe it.

I needed this easy read after my 800 page Mary Queen of Scots book.

I love this series. I sometimes wonder if Shepard had all these twists planned out ahead of time or if they're getting away from her. I am hopeful that everything will become clear and tie up well in book 8...I can't wait to see how this goes!

Interesting twist at the end of this one.

2.5/5 stars

This book was so good and action packed and really left me wanting to keep on reading. The short chapters make it so easy to read and get through

3.5

This was another one of Sara Shepard's books that started off somewhat boring and samey-samey. I genuinely had trouble getting started on this one because of the fact that there was a lot of back story in this one and a lot of mundane events in order to build up to the frankly intense ending (which is why this book has earned its 4 star rating - because the ending blew me away and pulled me back into the series after the dryness of the first half of this book). I'm finding it to be a repetitive theme in Sara's books: kind of boring in the first half and then the second half is so exciting that I can't bear to put it down for even a moment - and I suppose this is a device she uses to keep her readers hooked. Whatever it is, it works.

It was nice to see that the girls are starting to do something about things now instead of just running to the cops and getting themselves into more trouble through false allegations. It was great to see them finding out things for themselves, too - doing this instead of as a group which is highly different than in the other books where they would always stick together and all be mislead. It was refreshing to see all of the girls in different places and doing different things rather than reading the same thing over a fifty page spread just from different POV's - it makes it more exciting and gives it more spice. They were actively investigating and I absolutely loved that - they weren't letting the cops do their dirty work; they were doing it themselves and gathering their own evidence.
No more "quick let's run to the cops with no evidence and without even checking it out!" (I hope!)

Countless times in this book I had a "oh my gosh _____ did it" or "oh my gosh ______ is to blame!" and each time I was wrong - Sara has managed to lay so many paths throughout this and they lead you the wrong way so that when the twists do happen, you don't expect them - they're all fabulous.

This book was interesting, exciting, creepy, fun, enjoyable (despite the first half of it - but seriously, the second half more than made up for it!)... and this book made me start to adore the characters even more than I already did and the way they are portrayed is getting better as the books go on - I'm not rolling my eyes at any of them anymore.
Overall I'm pleased with the development that this book took and it is a highly impressive book in the series and a much needed catalyst to kick off the next books!

I do recommend this book (and this series!) to everyone to which finds the premise of these books interesting. Yes, they can be somewhat tedious to get through sometimes but I find because I read them consecutively without minimal break (maximum a day between each one) that I just get used to the same things over and over again. That said, I will be continuing this series because the minor monotony is worth it for the action, the excitement and everything inbetween takes that away.

So tempted to pick up the next book like right now. I won't, but I really want to lol. I'm almost half way through with this series yay!!

really enjoyed this one, although this lacks a sense of reality I would say, this story is fascinating, fast-paced and soooo addicting
