Even though I am a little annoyed because things seem so dragged out with Ali's killer, Sara Shepard has a gift in making you believe what she wants you to believe in these books. As soon as there's a new lead or possibility, even though I know it's probably not the killer, I'm always lead to be convinced that they could be the killer.
Heartless had a lot of jaw-dropping revelations in it. I believe it may be my favorite of the series so far, so I'm going to give it a 5 star rating. I think these books just keep getting better and better. The ending was a total surprise. These books are definitely a lot different from the show, but I am enjoying the two different storylines. Now I just have to keep myself from being confused.
Can't wait for the next one.

These books are so. Fucking. Good!
I have to say that Pretty Little Liars may definitely be my favourite series of books. Sara Shepard's writing is so addicting and easy to follow. Just when you think something's been all figured out, BAM! Another twist comes around the corner and hits you between the eyes.
Just like the other books, Heartless was a great read! Hanna's story had me at attention the most because it was very interesting. Iris was a fun character to read about because she was smiliar to Ali and she was just so bitchy and fiendish, and you didn't know whether to trust her or not. I hope there's more about her in the series.
The ending was really good! I didn't see it coming. To me, the series could end here, but I'm so happy there's more because I want to know what else happens to these girls and I just know that there's something else in store for them.
Bring on Wanted!

Bring on Wanted!
Due to being unwell and not doing much reading it has taken me a long while to read this and the next one.
In this book Emily is pretending to be Amish, Aria is hooking up with Noel, Spencer has a conversation with her parents, and Hanna is hospitalised.
Also they all get arrested.
This book felt different somehow. I think it was because there is very little A and it's more of the girls working things out and/or jumping to conclusions.
Someone else dies, but I'm not letting on who.
On the back of the next book it says that it is the conclusion. And this book feels like it is starting to wind down. I can't wait to see what happens next.

These books kill me! I am such a suck,Heartless had me pulling my hair out - thankfully not so much as to admit myself to the Preserve at Addison-Stevens. Rosewood's shit well and truly hits a fan in this heart-stopper.
2024 re-read
2.5 stars
adding a 0.5 star purely because I've totally forgotten about that ending

Graphic: Death, Eating disorder, Infidelity
The series has been progressively improving with each volume. With that being said, so far this instalment has been my absolute favourite! The pacing was very good with elements of suspense sprinkled in at exactly the right moments, and I hate to admit it, but these suspenseful surprises were things that I wasn't expecting at all! The "Previously on PLL" chapters and rants were finally taken out altogether with just the briefest snippets of the main aspects of what's occurred so far, and they were limited to details that would be explored in the current volume. This makes me so happy because I was getting really sick and tired of that regurgitative bullshit.
Overall, it's 3.75 corpses outta 5!

This has to be my favourite book in the series so far. So much action, so much... A.
5/5 well deserved.
