The 11th book in this series is as fabulous as the first ten. I’m totally unsure of how Marson’s manages to compose a story better than the last every single time. The intricate details of this case are brilliantly laid out with enough suspense to keep you guessing until the very end. One of my favorite things about her novels is there is always a touch of humanity and kindness weaves in whether it be from the main character DI Stone herself or one of her team that always makes you smile and think the world is not all bad!

I love how Marsons tackles a different theme for every book, this one being child geniuses.

Firstly I would like to thank the author, the publisher and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book. What a book it was, as the series has progressed the books have just got better and better and this one is definitely the best so far. This is the 11th book featuring Kim Stone and her team and as always it covers a new theme, and this time we were also introduced to a new character, I really hope this character appears in future books. As always I cannot fault the book it left me wanting more and I will struggle to wait for the next installment.

Excellent read. This series and this author gets better and better with each mystery. Two investigations in this one. Kim Stone, Bryant and Stacy must investigate a string of grizzly murders with a children's games theme while their fourth team member, Penn returns to his old precinct for a trial for a case he helped close. With murders piling up on Stone and Bryant, a new keen young recruit named Tiffany is added to help Stacy with her research.
Non-stop action and an interesting look at child prodigies and the competitions they enter/lifes they lead kept me guessing throughout.

Love this series and these characters. Love the pacing and the depth Marsons brings to her books.

Can I just say - if you are NOT reading this series yet, YOU SHOULD BE! It's a MUST READ!

Let's play a game. It's a twisty one involving revenge, murder and family strife. Are you up for it? Kim Stone and her team certainly were!

In this 11th installment of one of my absolutely favorite series, Kim and her team find themselves one step behind a gruesome killer whose hunting ground seems to be child prodigies and the people who work closely with them.

The investigation takes them deep into the darker side of life for gifted children - the unyielding pressure to be the best and stay on top, bitter rivalry and resentment between siblings and eventually growing up and dealing with the fact that you are not the star of the show anymore. The storyline was intriguing and made me think about all those children you see totted on television and youtube with special talent. What happens to them after they grow up and their special talent isn't as exciting anymore now that they are no longer children? It was riveting to explore this along with Kim and her team. Marsons is a star at writing new and compelling cases for each book!

Of course, all the banter and team love was as ever present here. It's what I have come to love most about this series. We even got a new character, Tiffany/Tinks added to the team when Penn had to return to his old stomping grounds for a case. Her bright and bubbly personality was quite the clash with Kim and it was great to watch how the members of the team reacted to her.

I sped through this book in one night because as usual, when I enter the world of Kim Stone there's no coming up for air until the case has been solved. Thank you Angela Marsons for doing what you do best! This was another well written, thoroughly researched, twisty plot. It can be read as a standalone but honestly - do yourself a favor and read them all. They don't disappoint!

Huge thank you to Angela Marsons, Bookouture & Netgalley for allowing me to read an arc of this book. I simply couldn't wait until it's official release day - July 11, 2019! Now, I impatiently have to wait for book #12.

WOW! Another fantastic Kim Stone instalment, this is book 11 and this series continues to go from strength to strength with each book building upon the foundations set by its predecessors.

In this outing, there are two storylines, one regarding the investigation into the gruesome murder of a retired college Professor of Child Psychology which takes the reader into the world of child prodigies and the sacrifices their families make...fascinating stuff!! The second storyline focuses on DS Penn so we get to know his character in addition to the investigation that he is part of.

I enjoyed this dual plotline which was brilliantly executed by Angela Marsons through to a fabulous conclusion.

Another brilliant read from the Queen of Police Procedurals.....LOVED IT!!!!
