This guy LITERALLY picks his future wife from a catalogue. As in, he opens a VT Wonen, sees a women standing between the furniture, and goes, “OMG I am in love.” And for the record, his only redeeming quality is that he is rich, for the rest he belongs where every VT Wonen ends up: in the trash.

3.5 stars rounded up to 4
This was mostly good. I liked the beginning a lot, the middle was definitely tedious and I found myself pretty annoyed with both Ivy and Boone, but at the 85% mark (basically the climax of the book) it got much better. So a would-be 3 stars all the way up to a 4 for the ending!

I didn't really like Boone- he wants people to treat him with respect, but he doesn't really treat others with respect, he mostly just throws money at them if he wants them to do something, and if he wants to show someone up he just destroys something. He's kinda sweet towards Ivy, but he's also kinda stalkery and manipulative. Ivy seems to let people walk all over her.

Alpha male HEA

Boone is a rugged, unkempt alpha male that knows what he wants and goes after it! Oh! And did I mention he's a billionaire?!?! Ivy, formally known as Reba, is a struggling real estate agent that is broke as e, but doing her best to take care of herself and her sister. I won't spoil anything, but I will say that this is a great read and I couldn't put it down.

Started this as the audiobook but the guy's accent was so bad. It sounds like he's chewing the words. Book was ok.

Dirty Money is the first book in the Roughneck Billionaires series by Jessica Clare. I have been on an adult romance kick lately so when I saw this one, I was interested. I mean, these guys are definitely on the rough side and grew up dirt poor and now that they have money, they don’t really take crap from anyone and they know what they want/like.

Boone is the oldest of the Price brothers and this is his story. I’m a bit on the fence with him as a character. As I mentioned, he grew up poor and now that he has money, he is sharing the wealth with his brothers. I liked this about him and thought it was great that the brothers were still so close.

I do admit, there were times that Boone was frustrating. I get being willing to do whatever he can to get Ivy’s attention but there were times where I felt like he didn’t really come off as someone who valued the life he had now that he had money to have the things he wanted. His approach in some situations came off as heavy handed and I wasn’t really on board with some of his actions. With all of that said, once Boone sees Ivy’s picture he decides she is the classy lady he needs in order to change what people think of him.

Ivy was an interesting character. I loved her drive to care for her sister and give her all of the things she never had when she was younger. When Boone Price barrels into her life, she finds someone who pushes her to see that she could be the person she wants to be. Little does Boone know that she is actually struggling to keep her car running and that the persona she puts out there for the realty company is wishful thinking…at least at this point in her life.

Overall this was an ok read for me. It didn’t totally win me over but I may check out the next book just to see what happens next for these guys.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the review copy.

Read for Fun (Library)
Overall Rating: 3.50
Story Rating: 3.50
Character Rating: 3:50

My Live Tweeting of the reading:

I feel the pull to live tweet my reading of Dirty Money by Jessica Clare cause Boone both infuriates me and also has me going "kinda hot"

He just literally had a text exchange about 2.5 million $$ houses saying if you want to look cheap. I find that funny cause he is a

billionaire but lives in a trailer park home (I grew up in one so no judgement in fact love them) and so does she LOL :) :)

Boone is just more alpha than Kristen Ashley's alphas aka he is harkening back to the beat on your chest reading heroes & I ain't hating it

Also I think this is my theme song for them: Pride and Joy by Stevie Ray Vaughn

Poor Ivy she has no idea but Boone knows :) This is more fun than I was expecting and honestly he is a billionaire I don't see

Getting in those eye Rollin situations cause he is not nailing someone on the company dollar but his own (yes I have huge boardroom issues)

I got no words for that moment and romance readers you know that moment. It was all about her and sighhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :)

Alpha men can drive me nuts but sometimes they are so right on the money that it makes me go (good thing you are thinking it not saying it)

His money thing / her afraid to say her truth thing is driving me BATTY

Well I finished and overall I liked it but I do admit I wanted to smack some peeps upside the head a couple of times LOL

It was a different read for me and there were moments at the end that drove me nuts BUT I had fun reading it. It was a different twist on this genre (Billionaire Romance).

More like 2.75/5 stars. There were things I liked but there were more things that rubbed me the wrong way. Full review to come.
